The representative of the Central Bank explained that accumulated but unpaid interest on loans cannot be considered overdue. The terms of interest payments specified in the agreements may vary, and according to accounting rules, credit institutions are required to account for accrued interest on their balance sheet until it is credited to the account.
According to the results of the year, the Central Bank records an increase in interest in loans, this was especially noticeable in the first half of the year before the tightening of monetary conditions associated with the increase in the key interest rate. Since September, the issuance rates have been decreasing. In addition, last year, financial institutions faced additional requirements from the Central Bank when providing loans, which also affected the final cost of loans for citizens.
