The main factors reducing the income of illegal video services include the effective blocking of pirated sites, a drop in the cost of advertising on these resources and the audience switching to legitimate Internet resources.
At the same time, market participants note that the laws are more focused on regulating the operation of legitimate online cinemas than on countering piracy on the Internet.
The gradual decline in the share of illegal video services was preceded by their rapid growth in 2023, when their share accounted for approximately 70% of all content.
