The State Duma adopted amendments increasing fines for traffic violations

December 12. /MEDIA TALK/. The State Duma adopted amendments to the traffic regulations, suggesting an increase in fines for non-compliance with road safety. So, the amount of penalty for driving a car without a seat belt will increase from one to one and a half thousand rubles. For crossing an intersection at a forbidding traffic light signal, a sanction of one and a half thousand rubles is provided, whereas a repeat offense will be obliged to pay seven and a half thousand rubles.

The amount of the fine for driving under the influence of alcohol will increase from thirty to forty-five thousand rubles. Penalties for speeding violations will range from 750 to 7.5 thousand rubles, depending on the excess.

For non-compliance with the rules of parking the car, a fine of 2.25 thousand rubles will be issued, the previous fine was 1.5 thousand rubles.

The discount on the payment of fines is reduced from 50 to 25%. Special conditions for payment of fines will be applied within a month after receiving the notification.

We recently told you that the total amount of penalties and fines accrued to Russians for 10 months of 2024 amounted to 783 billion rubles. This is 2.5 times more than from January to October 2023.
