According to information provided by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Maldives, which TASS cites today, the number of visitors to the islands exceeded one million people in the first six months of 2024, which exceeds the figure of the same period last year by 9.4%. The local authorities have every reason to expect an even higher figure in the second half of the year.

Maldives continues to attract tourists from China, which holds the first place in terms of the number of visits. In 2024, the island nation hosted over 260 thousand Chinese guests. Russia is in second place, with 220,000 tourists from our country visiting the Maldives this year.
