The volume of money transfers to Uzbekistan has increased by 34% since the beginning of the year
December 2nd. /MEDIA TALK/. In the first 10 months of this year, money transfers to Uzbekistan amounted to $12.6 billion, an increase of 34% compared to last year. Such data are provided in a Brief overview of currency transactions from January to October, issued by the country's Central Bank. $9.8 billion came from Russia, which is 78% of all transfers and 35% more than last year's figure. Kazakhstan became the second largest country, $699 million was transferred from there, $470 million (+37%) from the USA, $458 million (+71%) from South Korea, $331 million from Turkey, and $109 million (+76%) from the UK. Transfers from EU countries increased by 41% to $340 million.

Experts say the main reason for the growth is an increase in the number of migrants abroad, as well as a real increase in wages. Thus, the average salary in Russia, according to the regulator, for citizens of Uzbekistan increased by 38%, including in construction - by 55%, in delivery - by 48%, in taxis - by 46%. Since January 2024, the number of Uzbek citizens officially sent to work abroad has amounted to 113 thousand people, 3.6 times more than a year earlier.
