Transactions with a digital ruble that raise suspicions of fraud will be blocked for 48 hours.

December 24. /MEDIA TALK/. From February 23, 2025, Russian banks will have to temporarily block transactions with digital rubles if a credit institution detects signs of fraud in it. If such a transaction is detected, the financial institution will inform the user about potential fraud and warn them about the need to confirm the transaction before the end of the next business day. If the client does not confirm the transaction, the money remains in his account (digital wallet). The methods of dealing with questionable transactions with digital rubles are identical to those used by banks since July 25, 2024 for regular electronic payments.

The launch of digital rubles circulation is expected from July 1, 2025. In the test mode, operations with the new electronic currency began in August 2023, with clients of 13 major Russian banks participating in the experiment.
