January 10th. /MEDIA TALK/. The Chelyabinsk Regional Clinical Hospital has launched the program "Careful communication of a severe, disabling diagnosis" within the framework of the project "Lifelong support". This is the first such project in the region, where doctors are taught how to properly report complex diagnoses.

The work of doctors is connected not only with treatment, but also with communication with patients. Periodically, doctors and medical psychologists have to inform their patients about severe diagnoses. These conversations become difficult for patients or their relatives, as well as for hospital staff.

The result of a conversation about the disease should be a feeling from a specialist that the work was done professionally and with dignity.

The initiative "Careful communication of a serious diagnosis" is a project to help children and adults with "complex" diseases. The SPIKES method used in this work is aimed at reducing the patient's stress when receiving news of a diagnosis.

In the fall of 2024, doctors from the CHODKB underwent special training in Moscow. They have acquired the skills of conducting trainings for doctors. Since November, about 50 doctors have completed appropriate training at the CHODKB, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Chelyabinsk region reports.

Recall that the Katav-Ivanovo hospital in the Chelyabinsk region will be put into operation next year after major repairs.
