A group of Novosibirsk residents organized illegal deforestation
February 4th. /MEDIA TALK/.Trees were illegally cut down in the village of Kharino, Iskitimsky district.

An organized group of eleven local residents was engaged in deforestation. This is reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Novosibirsk region.

As it became known to the investigation, a group of Novosibirsk residents organized the felling of trees in October 2024. Illegal activities were carried out on the territory of the village of Kharino. Deforestation continued until January 2025. The wood was supplied to the sawmills. The lumberjacks were patronized by officials. As a result, large-scale damage was caused to the forest fund of the Russian Federation.

At the moment, four defendants have been taken into custody. The rest of the participants are currently on their own recognizance. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing, it is being monitored by the Prosecutor's Office of the Novosibirsk region.
