Imports of vegetable products from Russia to India increased 20 times in a year
January 14th. /MEDIA TALK/. In the first ten months of 2024, India significantly increased the purchase of Russian vegetables, exceeding the figure for the same period in 2023 by more than twenty times, to the amount of 435 million US dollars. Such conclusions follow from an analysis by RIA Novosti of data from the Statistical office of India.

The import of vegetable products from Russia to India in October reached the amount of 17.1 million US dollars, which is more than 4.9 times higher than in October 2023.

In October, peas were mainly purchased for $15.7 million. Chickpeas (worth $1.1 million) and lentils (worth $270 thousand) were also purchased.

Earlier, we reported that since January 2025, the Russian Government has set fixed export duties of 5% on these leguminous crops in order to maintain a balance between domestic and external consumption of these products.
