Two residents of the Novosibirsk region will stand trial for using slave labor in their cafe-hotel and on a farm. They attracted vagrants and people suffering from alcoholism to hard work without decent pay and kept them in unsanitary conditions.
According to investigators, from 2019 to 2023, the father and son forced three people to work in a cafe and on a farm, taking away their passports. At the same time, the working conditions did not comply with Russian legislation. The working day lasted 16 hours, and the victims lived in unsanitary conditions without heating and hygiene products, they were not paid a salary.

They were also forbidden to leave the hotel and the farm. In case of disobedience, violent methods and threats were used. Two victims managed to escape. The perpetrators can be imprisoned for a period of 3 to 10 years, the regional prosecutor's office reported.
