The involvement of more than half of the inhabitants of Mordovia in sports became possible thanks to the implementation of the regional project "Sport is the norm of life" of the national project "Demography". Its main goal is the formation of a healthy lifestyle culture, the involvement of residents in sports and the maintenance of sports infrastructure at a high level.

For example, the All-Russian tennis competition "Olympic Hopes of Russia" was recently held in Saransk. 100 athletes from 32 cities of the country performed on the courts of the Tennis Center of Mordovia. The tennis courts will be updated for the next tournament.
In addition, the government plans to provide residents with sports facilities by 83% by the end of this year. The outdoor and indoor courts will be renovated for this purpose.
Also, within the framework of state support, equipment was purchased for schools of the Olympic reserve in winter sports, cycling and tennis. Eleven sports organizations received equipment and sports equipment, as well as funding to participate in competitions at various levels.
Grant support is planned for six non-profit organizations that will implement projects in the field of sports and physical education.
To date, more than half of the planned sports events in the region have already been completed. Schoolchildren from Saransk and Kovylkino will represent the republic in the finals of the All-Russian sports complex "Ready for work and Defense" in Crimea.
