In total, there are 191 unauthorized landfills in the country within the borders of cities. This was announced during a meeting in the Government of the Russian Federation chaired by Deputy Chairman Dmitry Patrushev on the elimination of landfills within the framework of the national Ecology project. According to him, work has been completed on 158 illegal landfills. The remaining 33 salkas are located on the territory of 23 regions.
Measures to eliminate unauthorized facilities have made it possible to improve the quality of life of more than 5.7 million Russians. During 2024, 3.7 billion rubles from the state treasury were allocated to solve this problem.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the regions that did not eliminate landfills on time will carry out the work at their own expense.
The authorities will monitor the feedback and appeals of citizens on this issue and involve regulatory authorities, if necessary, the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation reports.
