An expanded meeting of the board of the Ugra Depsport was held in Khanty-Mansiysk, where the results of the work for 2024 were summed up and plans for 2025 were outlined. This year, 400 physical education and sports events were held in the region. Khanty-Mansiysk athletes have won almost 300 medals at the Russian and World championships, including 96 gold awards.
Over the 6 years of the national project "Sport is the norm of life", the number of Yugorsk residents involved in physical education has increased by 62%.
In 2024, 5 new sports facilities were commissioned in the region. Currently, there are 4,242 sports facilities and 55 sports schools operating on the territory of the Autonomous okrug.
Next year, Ugra plans to build 10 sports facilities, complete the construction of 8 sports complexes and retrofit 4 sports infrastructure facilities in the Arctic zone of the region.
At the meeting, coaches, mentors and heads of organizations were awarded for their services in the field of physical education and sports, the press service of the Government of Ugra told.
