The Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region on Budget, Financial and Economic Policy and Property extended tax benefits for Russian Post offices located in the villages of the region. The zero-rate project was voted on unanimously.
The draft law on amendments to articles on taxation of certain categories of taxpayers was presented to deputies by Anton Loshakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the region. He explained that thanks to the joint work of the Russian Post and the heads of municipal districts, 27 post offices were able to resume operation this year. Basically, they closed down because employees quit because of small salaries. Through preferential taxation, it became possible to increase the payment of 86 postal workers in the villages. In 2025, according to the minister, it is planned to open six more post offices and seven premises have also been selected for opening.

We add that according to the Ministry of Finance, as a result, the number of complaints from citizens about the working hours of post offices decreased, as Anton Loshakov clarified, four times fewer such appeals were received this year.
In turn, the chairman of the Committee on budget, financial and economic policy and property, Fedor Nikolaev, noted that at zero rates on property tax and transport tax of the Russian Post, the region loses little money, and the main problem of such offices in rural areas is just the maintenance of premises and the salary of postmen.
"Ensuring the operation of post offices carries not earnings in rural areas, but a social burden," the parliamentarian stressed.
The deputies unanimously agreed to extend tax benefits for rural post offices.
Earlier, we told that deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk region discussed the creation of retail outlets in remote villages of the region.
