Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova held a meeting on preparations for the 800th anniversary of the city of Yuryevets

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova held a meeting on preparations for the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the founding of the city of Yuryevets, Ivanovo region. Vladimir Putin signed a decree on holding events in honor of the anniversary of the oldest city in the region.

The main festive events will take place from June 1 to August 30, 2025. According to Tatiana Golikova, these events will help improve the life of the city, attract tourists, lovers of Russian history, architecture and cinema.

The head of the Ivanovo region, Stanislav Voskresensky, reported on the changes in the city's life. 7 landmark projects have been implemented in Yuryevets. Gas was installed in the city, repairs were made to school No. 1 and six kindergartens, the Yuryevetsky Central District Hospital was repaired, the street and road network were updated, the Volga embankment was improved and lighting was updated as part of the Bright City project.

Tatiana Golikova stressed that during the preparation of the anniversary, special attention is paid to events related to the life and work of famous residents of Yuryevets, Andrei Tarkovsky and Alexander Rowe. The Deputy Prime Minister also ordered to make maximum efforts so that the city could reach a new stage of development and could unleash its cultural and tourist potential, the Ivanovo regional government reported.

Textile manufacturers from the Ivanovo region produced products worth 146 billion rubles in 2024.
