The construction of a special economic zone will begin in the Vologda Region next year. The object will appear near the village of Leskovo. This will be the first SEZ in the region.
In 2025, specialists will begin to design and build infrastructure for the special economic zone. It should become a place that will attract new investors and production, said the head of the region, Georgy Filimonov.
According to the governor, at the moment there are six potential residents of the SEZ. Companies will be able to create 800 new jobs in the region. Tax revenues over 10 years will amount to about 5.9 billion rubles to the federal and 1.2 billion rubles to the regional treasury.

It is planned to invest about 8.7 billion rubles in the project. The Special Economic zone can become an important step towards improving the region's economy, creating innovative projects, unlocking scientific and investment potential and increasing the competitiveness of the region, the Government of the Vologda Region reported.
