A project of virtual tours of obelisks to fallen soldiers during the Second World War is being implemented in Bolsheignatovsky district of Mordovia.
13th of January. /MEDIA TALK/.On the VKontakte social network, employees of the Khukhorevskaya rural library of the Bolsheignatovsky district of Mordovia continue to work on the online project "Virtual tour of the Obelisks in Our Memory." Librarians collect information about monuments dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Photos and other materials are posted on social networks, accompanied by stories and stories. The aim of the project is to tell about the heroes whose names are immortalized on memorials, as well as about local residents who participated in the defense of the Motherland.

For example, one of the last stories is dedicated to the memorial in the village of Barakhmany. The small obelisk was built of brick in the mid-1960s. The names of 138 soldiers who died on the battlefields during the Great Patriotic War are carved on the granite plaque.

Another post is dedicated to the memorial in the village of Andreevka. It was built in 1965. Along with the photos, information is posted about the history of the monument's transformation, the appearance of a sculpture of a soldier and granite slabs with the names of the dead.

The project is being implemented from November 2024 to May 2025. A review column will be published during this period. The Khukhorevskaya Rural Library invites everyone to join the project and contribute to preserving the memory of the feat of our ancestors.
