The mayor of the district, Sergey Petrov, visited the sports facilities of the city during an off-site meeting. He told about his results in his Telegram channel.

So, the head of the municipality said that very soon a unique basketball hall with a professional surface will start working in Angarsk. The basket hall was created at the expense of entrepreneur Mikhail Babaskin.
"Some words of respect and appreciation to Mikhail Anatolyevich for this. The once empty building has received a new lease of life. This facility is a hope for even higher achievements of our basketball teams and another uniqueness of the Angarsk district. We are looking forward to the opening to admire the game of our basketball stars on the new parquet," Sergey Petrov wrote.

The mayor also visited the Olympic sports complex, where gymnasts and football players train. According to the mayor, the tenant of the premises has big plans for reconstruction. It should be noted that about half of the area of the complex has not been used for a long time and has fallen into disrepair. Sergey Petrov discussed with entrepreneurs the options for restoring the halls. "Considering that the guys completed it in a short time, I think that all further plans are quite feasible. As a result, we will get a full-fledged sports facility, which is very lacking in this part of the city," explained the mayor of Angarsk.

In the athletics arena, Sergey Petrov looked at how the gymnasts were training. He noted that the result of the complete reconstruction of the former ski base, which was carried out five years ago, can be observed now. Athletes show excellent results, performing at various competitions. Following the results of the trip, the mayor instructed the Department of Physical Education and Sports to provide for the renewal of gym equipment in the gym hall in the arena next year.

It should be noted that this year several new sports facilities have been launched in Angarsk, including a multifunctional skate park. It was built with the funds of the regional subsidy for socio-economic development.
