Alexander Katyshev from Mordovia became the champion of Russia in BMX racing
July 29th. /MEDIA TALK/.The Alfa-Bank Championship and the Championship of Russia in cycling BMX racing in 2024 were held in Saransk.

The competitions were held on the new Olympic track "Supercross" with an 8-meter slide, which is the only one in the country. This facility was built as part of the federal project "Sport is the norm of life" of the national project "Demography".

Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev noted that 10 million people in the country are engaged in cycling, making it one of the most popular sports. He expressed gratitude to the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, for creating a track of the highest level, which, according to the minister, will make a significant contribution to the development of cycling in the region and in the country as a whole.

According to the results of the classic race and the men's time trial, Alexander Katyshev, representing Mordovia, won. The champion shared his impressions: "I am very pleased with the result, I passed the track accurately and managed to win."

Natalia Suvorova, a pupil of the local BMX school and an international master of sports, also showed an outstanding result. She won the third place on the podium.
