The authorities of the Irkutsk region allocated 4.5 million rubles over the year to bring the anthrax cattle burial grounds to a standard condition. At the moment, the work is coming to an end.
According to the head of the regional veterinary service Sergey Shevchenko, 15 anthrax cattle burial grounds are registered in the Irkutsk region. They are examined for biological safety twice a year.

The regional veterinary service reminds that it is forbidden to graze animals, mow grass and take land outside the facilities on the territory of animal burial grounds and biothermal pits. Since 2021, hazardous biological waste has been burned in furnaces or outdoors in trenches and pits. There are 65 furnaces in the Angara region, in which the burning of bio-waste is allowed, the Irkutsk regional government reported.
Earlier, the prosecutor's office demanded that the powers of the head of the administration of one of the districts of the Angara region be urgently terminated.
