In Mordovia, the number of deaths in car accidents has decreased by almost 50% in the first eight months of this year. The number of accidents themselves increased slightly compared to the same period last year. The growth was less than 3%. Accident rates in the republic are monitored within the framework of the regional project "Road Safety".
In order to reduce accidents on the roads, inspectors conduct preventive talks in schools and kindergartens on an ongoing basis. Also, children's and youth driving schools and detachments of young inspectors are being created in the republic, in which children are taught traffic rules.
