To prevent traffic accidents and generally improve the situation on the roads, various events were held in Voronezh throughout the year. In particular, for the first time in the city, waffle markings appeared at two busy intersections. Lines that are cut in the form of diamonds were drawn at the intersection of Plekhanovskaya and Koltsovskaya streets and the 45th Infantry Division and Moskovsky Prospekt (waffle markings are needed to prevent congestion – ed.). This was told during the meeting of the next commission on improving traffic safety, which was held at the city hall. Representatives of relevant committees, the Center for Traffic Management and the State Traffic Inspectorate took part in its work.

In addition, traffic lights have been equipped with additional sections on some streets of Voronezh, for example, arrows that regulate turns. And new automatic traffic controllers were installed on Tchaikovsky Street. It was also announced that 12 additional stationary complexes for fixing traffic violations were installed in the city.
Experts paid special attention to pedestrian safety. During the year, 31 new crossings and 64 artificial bumps were equipped. Most of the objects were installed near schools and kindergartens.
