Tennis players of Mordovia go to the Russian Championship

January 29th. /MEDIA TALK/. The republic's national team won a bronze medal at the Volga Federal District Table Tennis Championship and will now represent the 13th region at the national level.

Competitions of the Volga Federal District were held in the capital of Tatarstan, in which more than one hundred athletes from ten subjects of the Russian Federation took part. The competitions were held in various categories: individual, doubles, team and mixed.

The Mordovian team included five athletes: Daniil Sokolov, Pavel Pulny, Igor Elistratov, Sergey Yatsenko and Nikita Moskovkin. During the qualifying stage, the representatives of Mordovia won all the matches of their group. In the quarterfinals, the team from region No. 13 won a landslide victory over rivals from the Penza region with a score of 3:0. However, in the semifinals, the team met with the future champions of the district, the national team of the Orenburg region, and lost to them. The second place was taken by a team from the Republic of Bashkortostan. According to the results of the tournament, five of the strongest men's teams and nine of the best athletes will participate in the Russian Table Tennis Championship in 2025, which will be held in the spring in the same place - in the capital of Tatarstan.
