The "Cross of the Nation - 2024" has become an excellent opportunity to strengthen health, promote running sports and an active lifestyle among the population of Mordovia and neighboring regions.
The cross-country race was attended by veterans of a special military operation, experienced athletes, schoolchildren, students and families, as well as young runners. Distances from 1 to 21.1 km were provided for all age groups. The longest was dedicated to 51 inter-regional runs in memory of Olympic champion Pyotr Bolotnikov.

Maxim Tsarev, who ran 1 km with a score of 3:51, finished first in the VIP race among veterans of the SVO. Veteran Andrey Eremin also came third. Vladimir Saushin won the silver medal in this race.
Lyudmila Rusyakina became the fastest among women, followed by Yulia Eremina and Elmira Gurina. Zakhar Kuznetsov and Miroslava Lapshina scored in the children's races, and Andrei Tuvyshkin and Alisa Frolova took second places. Roman Frantsev and Victoria Lobacheva became the third.

In the 21.1 km half marathon, Dmitry Zyuzin and Alexandra Vdovina finished first, Nikolai Gorin and Elena Sergeeva came second, and Vitaly Verendyakin and Veronika Nekayeva came third.
