The Head of the Republic of Moldova, Artyom Zdunov, met with representatives of Innopraktika to discuss the introduction of genomic breeding in dairy cattle breeding in the region.
In his Telegram channel, Artyom Zdunov noted that work is underway on a program aimed at developing genomic breeding of cattle, which will allow abandoning foreign genetic material and creating its own highly productive gene pool.

A six-year program in this area is scheduled to begin next year. There are already about 20 thousand animals in Mordovia that can be selected for this work.
In addition, together with Innopraktika, new specialists will be trained for the agricultural sector of the region. Among the upcoming events is the holding of the full—time stage of the All-Russian Olympiad on Agrogenetics "Innagrika", which will emphasize the importance of science and education in the development of the agricultural sector. About 15,000 applications are expected from high school students from all over the country.
