The school was founded in 1969 by two artists Ivan Borisov and Sergey Rubtsov. Previously, it was located in the Chelyuskinskiy House of Culture.
The school moved to its current building built in 1911 five years later. There is an ancient park and garden next to it. The creative space has become the cultural center of the Pushkinsky Urban District.
After graduation, many students enter an art college or universities with an art direction.
At the time of the opening of the creative educational institution, 40 children studied there. Now the art school is attended by more than 1,000 people. The institution has three branches: in Lesnoy, Zelenogradsky and Pushkino.
Earlier we wrote that next academic year the students will return to the renovated school No. 1 in Krasnoarmeysk.
