This year, the share of non-cash transactions in the Republic of Mordovia exceeded 60%
November 19. /MEDIA TALK/.The implementation of the Non-Cash Mordovia program continues in the region, which aims to make non-cash payments more attractive to residents.

In the first three quarters of this year, the share of transactions conducted without the use of cash reached 61.6%. As of October 1, 2024, 87.59% of the settlements in the region have the necessary infrastructure for making non-cash payments. On average, every resident of the republic has two bank cards. The number of transactions with them is increasing, and people increasingly prefer to use this convenient payment method. Plastic cards are still the most popular way to make non-cash retail payments.

In the period from January to September 2024, there was a significant increase in the popularity of non-cash payments in the field of trade and services. Their share in the total volume of payments reached 89.4%. This applies to both payment for goods and services, including catering.

In the field of housing and utilities, almost all payments for services are made via cashless payment. In this area, the share of such transactions is 87.6%.

In 2024, for nine months, the share of pensioners receiving pensions in non-cash form amounted to 64.6%. All payments to public sector employees and scholarships are made exclusively in electronic form.

All sports and physical education institutions of the republic, which provide paid services, use special devices for payment. Cultural organizations are equipped with terminals by 85.2%. Medical facilities by 69.8%. And in public transport, which serves urban and suburban routes, non-cash payments are provided by 91%.

To protect the residents of the republic from fraud and deception, special attention is paid to improving the financial literacy of citizens, especially in the field of non-cash, including contactless, payments for goods and services. It is important to ensure the availability and equal level of protection of these payments.
