Public safety in Voronezh is maintained thanks to the "Safe City" system. Elena Gudkova, head of the Department for Work with Administrative bodies and Civil society structures, told more about her work at a meeting in the city Hall.

Now the Safe City Video Monitoring Center uses more than 6.5 thousand video surveillance cameras. About 1.1 thousand of them are owned, and over 5.3 thousand belong to other organizations of various forms of ownership. Thus, the Video Monitoring Center has been provided with remote access to video cameras, which are installed on the territory of 10 administrative buildings and 35 business centers. Also, the monitoring center's cameras are located at 386 bus stops, 552 apartment buildings and other facilities.
In 2024, the Safe City Video monitoring center recorded 123 events, 605 road accidents and 3 fires. In addition, 741 administrative offenses were documented, 244 crimes were identified and 190 were solved. And also - to process 1,984 official requests for archived video information.

The mayor of the city, Sergey Petrin, noted that the Video Monitoring Center needs to increase the number of cameras. The mayor instructed to work on this issue with the regional Ministry of Digital Development. It will also be necessary to prepare software for the rapid activation of new cameras.
In addition, the Safe City institution in Voronezh has installed 3,360 turnstiles, 40 frame and 20 manual metal detectors.
