A session of the International Olympic Committee was held in Paris before the start of the 2024 Olympic Games. At the meeting, a vote was held for the venue of the 2034 Winter Olympic Games. Salt Lake City in the U.S. state of Utah was chosen as the location.

95 people took part in the voting. After that, the head of the IOC officially announced that Salt Lake City will be the venue for the 2034 Olympics. 83 participants voted for the city, the remaining 12 abstained or opposed it, RIA Novosti Sport reports.
