About 2.8 billion rubles have been allocated from the regional and federal coffers for the development of the forest protection system in 2025. Today, the readiness for the fire season exceeds 80%. Almost all serviceable equipment has been mothballed. 426 units of special equipment require repair and maintenance. Another 43 devices are in need of major repairs.
1,218 specialists are involved in ground-based forest fire units. The aviation group consists of 345 people. There are also 58 forest fire stations and 18 aviation departments in the Irkutsk region. There will be another aviation department this year. It will be created in the village of Perevoz in the Bodaibinsky district, the press service of the Government of the Angara region told.
