The Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Ecology intends to reclaim the acid tar pond in the capital of the region at Moskovskoe Shosse, 21. In the near future, design and estimate documentation for the liquidation of the facility will be prepared.
The reclamation will be carried out by a court decision. The budget has already included the amount needed for the design. Now the authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region are working on including the pond in the state project "General cleaning". This will allow us to receive funding from the federal budget.

The pond is included in the state list of objects of accumulated harm. It is a hydraulic engineering structure with waste from the refinery of the DOAO company "Varya". The pond was formed as a result of sulfuric acid purification of oils from resins and other impurities, Kommersant reports.
Recall that after the residents of Nizhny Novgorod appealed to the mayor, a pedestrian bridge was replaced in the Avtozavodsk district.
