Samara Medical University has produced more than 1,000 endoprostheses as part of its own production

February 3rd. /MEDIA TALK/. Specialists from SamSMU have produced at least 1,000 endoprostheses since the launch of their own line. The devices are manufactured on the basis of the university's Serial Production Center at the Research Institute of Bionics and Personalized Medicine.

In addition, in 2024, the staff of the Bionics Research Institute learned how to make preoperative templates and instruments from polyamide. During the production, equipment was installed that applies a biointegrating and an antibiotic film coating to the prostheses.

The specialists also managed to develop a line of sliding modules that are designed for "growing" endoprostheses. At the end of last year, surgeons began using these devices during pediatric surgeries. Previously, the technology was tested on adult patients, the press service of the Government of the Samara region said.
