The program developed by the Ministry should improve the regulatory framework for increasing state support and improving the genetic stock of livestock. This can be achieved by purchasing breeding young individuals and artificial insemination. The program should also support investments in sheep and goat breeding, and encourage improvements in the taste and weight of livestock.

According to the draft, subsidy rates for partial reimbursement of the cost of maintaining breeding stock will be increased to 300 rubles per head. Wool production is subsidized by 30 rubles per kilogram, and compensation for the maintenance of certain animal species can be set at up to 3,000 rubles per year for sheep and goats.
The planned volume of artificial insemination reaches 10,000 heads per year in order to improve the breeding value of Tuvan sheep and goats. Flocks of breeding animals will be created in the republic through the selection of individuals with the best characteristics.
Investments will also be attracted for the construction of livestock complexes. As part of one of the projects, a full-cycle meat production enterprise under the Tuvan Mutton brand will be created. There will be support for local producers within the framework of the Agrostartap and Family Farm programs.
One of the points of the program will be the organization of seasonal work by mobile teams of shearers and bathing baths. The services will be provided under a social contract program.
By 2030, the total number of sheep and goats should reach 1.2 million heads, and mutton production is planned to rise to 800 tons per year, the press service of the Government of Tyva said.
