2.3 billion rubles will be allocated for mobile communications in small towns in 2025

The government will allocate more than 2.3 billion rubles for the construction of mobile network base stations and technical work to provide high-speed Internet to small settlements with up to 500 people. The relevant resolution is posted on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation. With this money, it is planned to provide communications to at least 406 villages in 2025.

In November, the Ministry of Finance summed up the voting results on the selection of small settlements, which first of all will have to be connected to the Internet. It was part of a program to eliminate digital inequality. According to this program, over the past 4 years, about 5,000 settlements with a population of 100 to 500 people have gained access to fast mobile Internet.

According to the Decree of the President of Russia "On the National Development Goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 and for the future up to 2036," it is noted that it is necessary to increase the proportion of households with access to high-quality broadband Internet to 97% by 2030 and to 99% by 2036.
