A bill on mandatory notification of the expiration of the CTP policy has been submitted to the State Duma.

January 10th. /MEDIA TALK/. On January 10, 2025, a draft law was submitted to the State Duma requiring insurance companies to notify citizens of the expiration of a compulsory car insurance policy. This is reported by TASS with reference to the document.

It is assumed that insurance companies will be required to inform motorists about the termination of the policy no earlier than 20 days and no later than 10 days before the expiration date.

The notification can be sent by e-mail, SMS, or through the Public Services website. The authors of the bill believe that the implementation of this initiative will help reduce the likelihood that motorists will inadvertently violate traffic rules and allow bona fide car owners to avoid fines for non-renewal of the CTP insurance policy.
