Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be disconnected from the Russian electricity grid on February 8, 2025
November 29th. /MEDIA TALK/. The Baltic countries will stop using the connection to the IPS/UPS power grid (the electricity transmission network of some CIS countries with a common operating mode and centralized dispatch control, approx. Media Talk) and will begin joint work on synchronization with the continental European zone.

It is noted that this will help to increase energy security and will allow us to work on the basis of common European rules. The European Union has allocated about 1.2 billion euros to carry out work on synchronizing energy systems. This amount will compensate up to 75% of the costs.
