It became known why confidence in bank deposits is growing in Russia

On Wednesday, September 11, it became known that Russians' confidence in bank deposits is growing due to the fact that large financial institutions in the country have not been deprived of licenses and have not gone bankrupt for a long time. This was reported to Izvestia by Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Artyom Kiryanov.

He explained that the regulator has "cleaned up" the banking community and now it is working "quite rhythmically": the legislation is respected and the rights of depositors are ensured. In addition, deposits are currently more reliable than other investment options.

At the same time, the deputy believes that in 2025 the Central Bank's key rate will decrease following inflation. This will also affect the profitability of deposits.

Note, according to the Central Bank, 40% of Russians prefer to open deposits for three months. Only 5% entrust their funds to banks for one year, and 1% for a longer period.

Recall that today the BEAC announced an increase in rates on some deposits to 20%. VTB made a similar decision the day before.
