New public transport monitoring system to be tested in Russia
January 29th. /MEDIA TALK/. In 2025, the Ministry of Transport will launch an interregional passenger transportation control system. It will be introduced in fifty regions of the Russian Federation, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.

This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a statement by Dmitry Bakanov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport and Chairman of the Board of Directors of GLONASS JSC.

The system should facilitate the tasks of transport companies and strengthen passenger protection. It provides for monitoring the execution of the timetable via the Internet. A tool such as a digital indicator for tickets and transportation will also be launched, which will ensure the accurate identification of legal carriers and eliminate violators who pose a threat to passenger safety.
