December 12. /MEDIA TALK/. The Russian air carrier, Aeroflot, will receive the first MC-21 aircraft in 2026. Speaking at the PRO Movement forum, Ivan Batanov, Director of the Network and Revenue Management Department, called such deadlines. His words are quoted by TASS.

As Batanov noted, Aeroflot is currently working with the manufacturer, the United Aircraft Corporation, to customize the new MC-21, that is, to modify it at the request of the airline. Serial production of the aircraft is planned to begin in 2025.

At the 2022 Eastern Economic Forum, Aeroflot signed an agreement with PJSC UAC under which 339 aircraft will be delivered, including the MS-21, SJ-100 and Tu-214. The MS-21 is to replace the short- and medium-haul TU-154 and TU-204 aircraft. It is expected that it will become an alternative to foreign-made airliners.

At the beginning of this year, the government approved a program to expand the production of aircraft, engines and instruments. In the next six years, it is planned to build more than 600 liners of completely domestic production. In June, tests of the MS-21 engine control system with new software were completed, we wrote about this in more detail.
