The government is launching an experiment on the online sale of discounted air tickets

December 16th. /MEDIA TALK/. From January 1 to July 1, 2025, an experiment will be conducted on the territory of the Russian Federation to sell air tickets via the Internet to passengers eligible for benefits. Citizens under the age of 23, pensioners, people with disabilities, large families, as well as residents of the Far East and the Kaliningrad region will have the opportunity to buy plane tickets online. So far, such an opportunity has been provided only at the box office.

During the experiment, an electronic service will be launched that instantly checks the right to a discount and exchanges data with government information systems. This will simplify the purchase of tickets, reduce the time spent on auditing the accounts of air carriers and improve the mechanism for allocating subsidies to compensate for the cost of preferential travel.

If the experiment goes well, the Ministry of Transport will make adjustments to the relevant legislative acts so that citizens eligible for benefits can buy subsidized travel documents online in the future.

As we have already mentioned, the Ministry of Transport has retained all existing air travel subsidy programs in 2025.
