The number of microcredit organizations in Russia is decreasing
August 27th. /MEDIA TALK/. On Tuesday, August 27, it became known that since the beginning of 2024, the number of microcredit organizations in the Russian Federation has decreased by 8.2%. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to the statistics of the Bank of Russia.

Thus, in the register of the Central Bank at the beginning of 2024, there were 1009 MFIs, by the end of the first quarter there were 982. Experts of the Expert RA organization expect that in the second and third quarters the number of such firms will decrease by another 50. By the end of the year, the indicator may drop below 890.

The pace of closure of microcredit organizations exceeds forecasts and is associated with stricter requirements for such institutions, as well as the establishment of marginal rates, the media noted. Experts expect that the number of players may be halved after the implementation of the Central Bank's concept, which involves the withdrawal of participants from the segment who are not associated with the issuance of expensive microloans.

At the same time, Expert RA noted that the reduction in the register of MFIs does not affect market volumes against the background of the growth of large companies in this field.

Recall, the day before it was reported that the average size of a microloan in Russia "fell" below 10 thousand rubles. The NBKI attributed the dynamics to the regulator's measures to cool the credit market.
