The delivery of natural gas to the Transnistrian region and the Republic of Moldova has been interrupted since the beginning of the year due to Ukraine's termination of transit through its territory, as well as due to disagreements between Gazprom and Moldovagaz regarding the latter's debt.
A state of emergency has been imposed in Transnistria for more than a month, and several deaths have been reported. Last week, the Kremlin announced its readiness to supply fuel to the region.
