Recently, the Russian company Gazprom announced the termination of supplies of "blue fuel" to Moldova from the beginning of 2025. The decision is conditioned by Chisinau's refusal to fulfill contractual obligations.
It is reported that in 2023, an audit of Moldovagaz's historical debt to Russia's Gazprom was conducted. It amounted to 709 million dollars. At the same time, the head of the Moldovan Ministry of Energy, Victor Parlikov, claimed that $ 276 million of this amount was not documented by any of the parties. Another $400 million, according to the minister, was not recoverable, as the statute of limitations had expired. The government of the country is ready to pay Gazprom only the remaining $ 8.6 million, RIA Novosti reports.
