As the mayor noted, the issue of launching electric buses and trolleybuses with autonomous running in test mode is currently being discussed with the governor of the region.
"To begin with, it can be no more than four units from different manufacturers. The cost of such transport ranges from 35 to 45 million per unit. If such a decision is made in November or early December, then we will be able to receive these units at the end of the first quarter of next year and start using them in test mode," Sergey Petrin clarified.

The mayor gave an example of the use of such transport in the Belgorod region. According to him, the power consumption there is lower than that of Voronezh trolleybuses.
"It is important to first check how this transport will behave in our conditions, including in winter. Only after successfully passing the test mode, you can enter large-scale projects. In addition, it will be necessary to find a source of financing," the mayor explained.
In addition, the mayor discussed with journalists the renewal of the bus line.
"Already this year there will be 190 new units of transport on the routes. Some will be purchased from the budget, some will be under leasing contracts signed by our private carriers," said Sergey Petrin.
The mayor of the city added that in this way it will be possible to close the need for transport in the most problematic areas.
