As reported on the website of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Mordovia, the number of registered crimes in the six months of this year decreased by 10% compared to the same period in 2023. The number of particularly serious, moderate and minor crimes has increased. At the same time, the number of serious crimes decreased by 8%.
Also, compared to the first half of last year, there were fewer offenses committed in public places – it decreased by almost 30%. But the number of crimes committed with the help of information technology is growing. Significantly fewer violations of the law in the field of corruption were recorded, 48% less than in the same period in 2023. Economic crimes also began to be committed in the republic by 33% less.

According to law enforcement officers, most of the crimes were committed in Saransk and Ruzaevsky district. The most peaceful areas in terms of operational situation are Bolsheignatovsky and Kadoshkinsky.
The number of crimes committed by persons under the influence of alcohol, persons who have previously committed crimes and previously convicted citizens has also decreased.
Fraud and theft are still the most frequent violations of the law. The highest detection rate in Mordovia of particularly serious crimes is 72%. And almost 50% are minor crimes.
