The head of the region noted that the republic successfully uses all the opportunities that open up thanks to government projects and programs. In the period from 2021 to 2023, as part of the national Ecology project, significant work was carried out in the region to clean up the most problematic areas of the Moksha and Saranka rivers. The total length of these sections is almost 23 kilometers. In the course of work to protect against the negative effects of water and eliminate its consequences, another 12 kilometers of the riverbeds of the Malaya Varma, Kurya and Tavla rivers were cleaned. Major repairs were also carried out on five hydraulic structures. 366 million rubles were allocated for these events.

During the meeting with Natalia Sologub, they considered the prospect of cleaning up the Insar River. A significant accumulation of silt is observed on the section of the river that runs next to the Mordovia Arena stadium, and in the summer there is an active growth of aquatic plants. More than 17,000 cubic meters of sediments have accumulated at the bottom of the river. The cost of the river cleaning project is approximately 47.5 million rubles.
All problematic aspects were presented to the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Water Resources. It is necessary to review the cleaning methods, optimize costs and decide on the further use of bottom sediments.
The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic is currently working on the creation of project documentation for the Tavla River. In the area of the villages of Luhovka and Makarovka, the river's capacity decreased, which led to flooding of 238 residential buildings with adjacent plots.
