This year, Russia will host 14,400 competitions. Of these, 290 are considered priority. 95 international tournaments are organized in the country, including with the participation of athletes from the BRICS, SCO, EAEU and CIS countries. Also, 40 All-Russian complex competitions with the participation of foreign teams and 155 Russian Olympic sports championships are planned for this year.

According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, the country remains highly competitive in the presence of external restrictions. Russians will participate in 57 world championships in Olympic sports disciplines. One of the key events is the "Games of the Future", which this year will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
Special attention this year will be paid to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Ministry of Sports has invited sports leagues, clubs and federations to use the approved brandbook of the Pobeda Organizing Committee during competitions and to hold patriotic actions. 70 major sporting events will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary, such as the "Cross of the Nation", "Race of the Russian Federation" and the pre-conscription Youth Spartakiad, the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation reports.
The builders have completed the reconstruction of two buildings of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism.
