Sakhalin is preparing to host the 4th Russian-Chinese Youth Winter Games. They will be held early next year from January 8th to 14th in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. 224 athletes will take part in the competition.
The venues of the Games will be the STK "Mountain Air", the UTC "Vostok", the complex of ski jumps "Height", the ski complex "Triumph" and the Sports Palace "Kristall". Participants will compete in ski jumping, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, figure skating, curling, short track, cross-country skiing and freestyle.

Sakhalin Governor Valery Limarenko said that the region has a very developed sports infrastructure, so the region will become a good venue for competitions.
Sports facilities have been preparing for the Games for several months. The work is nearing completion. The organizers have already thought over and drawn up a schedule of events, worked out the issues of athletes' accommodation, nutrition and logistics, and prepared an international cultural program, Moskovsky Komsomolets Sakhalin reports.
